About the Program As of February 1, 2009, The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO is proud to present to the Philadelphia area union community our Directory of screened, certified and authorized union and union-friendly vendors and service providers. Please patronize these loyal, quality pro-union vendors, who have committed to offer exclusive preferred services and discounts to the members and families of our union community. The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO Buy-Union Directory Program, administered by PhillyUnions.com, is the authorized medium by which certified vendors (a.k.a. Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO Preferred Partners) will be introduced and comprehensively marketed to the Philadelphia area union market. All applicants to the program will be screened and certified by the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO and area union leaders to ensure they meet the pro-union standards set forth by the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO, thus providing unprecedented credibility and visibility within the Philadelphia area union community.
