Re: PhillyUnions.com

Dear Brother Ironworker:

Recently, the Philadelphia Council of the AFL-CIO and its affiliated unions voted to endorse PhillyUnions.com, a new pro-union entity dedicated to working together with participating area unions in all industries for the common purpose of keeping Philadelphia and vicinity the number one union region in America. The services of PhillyUnions.com are free for us to use, and represent not only an incredible value to our union, but also a cutting edge media and communications tool that will far exceed anything we've had access to up to this point.

PhillyUnions.com will serve as a powerful network, media platform, and instantaneous communication medium for the voices of Philadelphia area union leaders, and will become a resource center and community hub for the entire Philadelphia area community. It will also be the area's online news and information source, focusing primarily on news, events, situations, politics, legislation, and economic and employment issues related to or that affect Philadelphia area unions.

In order for us to take advantage of the power of PhillyUnions.com to keep all our members up to date and informed, we need you to visit our PhillyUnions.com web site and sign up for our union e-mail list. Your e-mail address will be kept private; only our union leadership will be able to use it to contact you.

Please go to http://phillyunions.com. Click "Union Directory," then click the link for our union, then click the "Join E-Mail List" link.

Please do this as soon as possible, as we will be using e-mail more and more as an additional method of providing information to our membership.

We also strongly recommend you to bookmark our union's PhillyUnions.com home page (add it to your Favorites or Favorite Places) and check it regularly. We'll be posting news frequently on the site. You might even want to make it your browser's home page.

If you do not currently have a computer, please contact PhillyUnions.com at 215-333-7400 and leave your name, phone number, our union name, and local, and a short message asking for information about a discount on the purchase of a new Dell computer. If you have a computer but you are not currently online, we stongly recommend you sign up with an Internet Service Provider so you will be able to join our e-mail list and take advantage of this new and convenient way of communicating with your Local Union. Aside from the big national providers, there are several very good, yet, inexpensive Internet Service Providers that you should condsider using such as www.erols.com, www.juno.com, or www.netzero.com.
